As we discussed in the last post, HardiPlank Houston and Warranties Coverage, Part 1, Hardiplank Houston siding is covered by the James Hardie 30-year limited warranty. In this post, we’ll talk about what happens when the warranty is invoked.
According to the Warranty terms, Hardie would either replace or repair if it has been proven that the product, or a part of it, is defective. In some cases, Hardie may even decide to completely reimburse the owner for twice the amount originally paid for the product.
However, the product has to be installed in accordance to Hardie’s installation requirements as well as all local building codes. Failure to do so may result in the warranty being void, meaning you will have to shoulder the cost for repairs.
